Cleaned Used Vegetable Oil
Fuel Information

What is it?
Using OilOilStorage

Cleaned Used Vegetable Oil is oil which has been cleaned to remove any:

bullet
Animal fats
bullet
Heavy water
bullet
Foreign bodies - filtered to 20 microns (one 50th of a millimetre)

This delivers a high quality specification Used Vegetable Oil, which can be made into biodiesel and/or used as a fuel for converted diesel engines

What are the benefits?

bullet
Minimises your Carbon emissions – as your fuel is made from “waste” oil
bullet
Reduces harmful emissions which improves air quality
bullet
Cheaper fuel than biodiesel

How does it work?

As raw material for you to refine it into biofuel

To make good quality biodiesel, you must start with good quality used Vegetable Oil. Using Proper Oils Cleaned Used Cooking Oil guarantees top quality feedstock

By refining your own biodiesel, you save the fuel duty on up to 2,500l of biodiesel refined per year – saving £1,425/yr

Use as fuel for diesel engines

Cleaned Used Vegetable Oil can be used directly as a fuel if you modify your engine to use the heat from the engine to heat the vegetable oil up. This makes the Cleaned Used Vegetable Oil behave like diesel ie it increases the viscosity and reduces the flashpoint

To do this the majority of organisations get a conversion kit fitted to their engine

How much does it cost?

This is cheaper than biodiesel because you do not need to add any costly chemicals to convert it into biodiesel. Two different priced fuels are sold:

bullet
For refining into biofuel. This is not for use as fuel on the road, and therefore road duty isn’t included in the price. This works out approximately 25% cheaper than new oil
bullet
For use as fuel on the road. The Road Duty is paid on this fuel so you are legally entitled to use it as a road fuel – this works out approximately 5% cheaper than diesel
