The Big Venture Challenge is an intensive 12 month programme that is designed to help social entrepreneurs raise external investment.
Proper Oils are proud to have the opportunity to pitch our idea.
How is Proper Oils socially minded?
Well, our team are our biggest asset and Proper Oils success is symbiotic to the quality of the people we employ.
We are committed to delivering measurable social impact directly to disadvantaged communities in England. This is done by running a successful apprenticeship program. Candidates gain experience across the core areas of logistics, marketing and operations.
Our apprenticeship programme provides valuable work experience & improves trainee’s employability. Lewis Barney (right) was a successful Proper Oils Apprentice who went on to land a job with British Airways.
To compliment this, and to ensure we find and recruit the best apprentices, our aim is to offer 15 young people 6 week work experience traineeships. From this cohort, we will offer the best a full time apprenticeship – we aim to recruit 2 full time apprentices in year 1. In year 2, by scaling up our business, we aim to increase our social impact four-fold.
What is happening?
30 of 45 ventures selected to present will be chosen. The challenge will provide assistance in building a compelling growth story, finding investors, making strategic connections and support during the journey.
Our presentation to a panel of 6-8 judges, made up of UnLtd staff and trustees, investors, industry experts and former Big Venture Challenge winners, is this afternoon.
Good luck to all our fellow competitors who are also preparing to face the judges.
