Congratulations to our transport department who successfully passed our FORS inspection, which means our Bronze Accredition is once again renewed.
Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) is an accreditation scheme set up by Transport for London, that aims to improve fleet activity. It is a voluntary scheme which Proper Oils has been part of for over 5 years. It ensures we manage our vehicles to best practice which provides benefits in 3 main areas – Environment, Efficiency, and Health and Safety.
Proper Oils is committed to running its vehicle and fleet to best practice, and being inspected regularly means we can prove this to our customers.
So, what next? Keep improving, and keep pushing the bar higher. How?
Renewing our FORS Silver Accredition
This requires us to prove that we are regularly monitoring the fuel and fuel usage, penalty charge notices (PCN’s), and any accidents that we have. This leads to better management of our fleet.
Training our drivers
The whole driving team are going to attend a Safe Urban Driving course so the team experience a cyclist’s view of the road.
Training our transport managers
FORS offers a practitioner course which covers 9 areas of transport best practice in detail.
Work towards Gold accredition in 2016-17.
Our FORS Bronze Accreditation is the baseline standard for our operations. It is great to get this renewed for another year.
