Proper Oils just signed a cheque for over £2000 to support Heathrow Airport’s very own community initiative

Proper Oils has been servicing Heathrow Airport, collecting and recycling used cooking oil for over five years now. Part of our deal includes a donation to the local initiative Communities Together. Organised by the Heathrow Community Fund, they sponsor small grass roots organisations in the Heathrow area to carry out projects which bring the community together.

The Heathrow Community Fund supports significant and positive change for communities near the airport. The fund also has a role in supporting airport staff who participate in volunteering and fundraising for their local area, and causes held close to their hearts.

It is part of the independently run charity LHR Airport Communities Trust, which benefits from funding from Heathrow Airport Limited and partnering companies such as Proper Oils.

Over the last year Proper Oils have donated over £2000 to the initiative and we are proud to support business who re-invest local charitable causes.

Dr Rebecca Bowden, Director of Heathrow Community Fund said “We are very grateful to the support given by Proper Oils to our Communities Together programme – a great example of how companies working at the airport can also work together to help the most needy in our community. Over the last year the Communities Together programme has given over £60,000 to forty organisations working with the local community around the airport. Support from organisations like Proper Oils has enabled us to support local groups from learning to read for disadvantaged children to a group for elderly people to encourage singing for health”.
