As we’ve mentioned before, running a sustainable catering business can indeed be good for the profits as well as the environment.
So let us introduce FoodSave – a smart initiative being run by the Sustainable Restaurant Association to help reduce the amount of waste going into landfill and save business thousands of pounds a year.
The FoodSave team are in the final months of delivering their project and are looking to get new restaurants, pubs, canteens, cafes and hotels businesses involved. The project is totally free to take part in thanks to funding by the Mayor of London, London Waste and Recycling Board and European Regional Development Fund and could save businesses £5000-6000 a year in reduced food waste costs.
FoodSave identifies areas in your business where waste is costing you money, and works with you to make changes that will reduce the amount of food thrown away.
You’ll find a fantastic animation explaining how it works, as well as full details about how you can get involved at www.foodsave.org. FoodSave is available on a first come first served basis and places are filling up fast, so to take advantage call 020 7479 4226 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
